Fountain: Pilar del Toro

Text size

It is a fountain ascribed to Diego de Siloe, half way through the sixteenth century.

Its name comes from the water sprouting from the snouts of a bull head sculpted in stone. On both sides and, pretending to be sitting on the stack, we find two sculptures of children supporting two channels. It is surmounted by Granada’s crest.

Since 1941, it is located at Santa Ana Square, although its last location was Elvira street.
